AN EQUIVALENT LINEARISATION FOR THE SOLUTION OF CERTAIN CLASS OF NON-LINEAR VIBRATION PROBLEMS.

Abstract

A piecewise linear method based on the principles of minimum mean square error between the non0linear and the equivalent linear charateristics has been presented. This enables the non linear differential equations to be reduced to a sequence of linear differential equations which are solved by usual methods. The method is illustrated by examples.
