CIRCULAR CYLINDRICAL DIELECTRIC ROD WAVEGUIDE
Abstract
Tbe propagation characteristics, such as, propagation constant, guide wave length, radial field spread, division of power as a function of the diameter and dielectric constant of a circular cylindrical rod dielectric guide excited in H01, E01 and HE11 modes are studied. Tbe study of scattering coefficients of the H01 – H11 mode transducer which is used to excite the guide in HE11 mode. leads to its representation as an equivalent Tee- network. The insertion loss and launching efficiency of the mode transducer has been evaluated. The scattering coefficients, impedance and attention characteristics of the dielectric guide excited in HE11 mode are also studied.
