STUDIES OF THE INFRARED SPECTRA OF DlGLYCINE BARIUM CHLORIDE MONOHYDRATE
Abstract
The studies of the infrared spectra of the equilibrium mixtures of diglycine barium chloride monohydrate, (NH+3 CH2COO-)2 BaCl2H2O containing the species
(i) (NH3+CH2COO-)2.BaCl, H2O
(ii)(NH2D+CH2COO-)2.BaCI2.HDO
(iii)(NHD2+CH2COO-)2 BaCl2 HDO
(iv) (ND+3CH2COO-), BaCl, D2O
have shown a strong coupling among different vibrations. The progressive changes in the intensifies of the infrared absorption bands due to different equilibrium species are observed. These studies have also shown that some of the assignmenrs of Laulickr et al. are not in accordance with the observed results.
