A STUDY OF THE TRANSIENT STABILITY PROBLEM

Abstract

This paper presents a simple graphical method of determining the-critical clearing angle making use of the fundamental stability theorems of Lagrange andLiapounoff for a conservative system. A graphical construction is also given to find the data for the swing Curve without numerical computation. The methods proposed are illustrated by two typical examples and the results obtained are compared with those of the existing methods.
