Abstract

The seasonal abundance of Rotifera in two nutrient rich lakes of the Kashmir Valley (Himalayas) is described onthe basis of quantitative and qualitative sampling between December, 1981 and November. 1982. The fluctuationsin the numerical density of Rotifera are correlated with those of seasonal water temperatures and pH.Twenty-two species of Rotifera were identified from the two lakes and the low diversity indices related to higheutrophication.
