G J MOHAN RAO, S C PILLAI

Abstract

Anion exchange material has been prepared from spent coffee grounds by suitable treatment with sulphuric acid, sodium chloride and alum. The material has been found considerably efficient in removing calcium from 0-1% calcium chloride solution and in removing fluorine from tap water in which known amount of sodium fluoride was dissolved (about 2.5 p.p.m. as fluorine).
