RAMAN SPECTRUM OF FLUORENE

T A HARIHARAN

Abstract

By using the technique of complementary filters, the Raman spectrum or fluorene is recorded at room temperature and the frequency shifts are compared with those of the earlier investigation. The Raman spectrum of fluorene dissolved in benzene is also obtained in the usual manner for liquids. Extra lines have been identified at 31, 67, 93, 356, 628, 875,1266 and 1494 and assignment of the Raman lines has been attempted.
