A ROTATING DISC IN CONSTANT PURE SHEAR
Abstract
The disc of constant pure shear can be obtained by taking a9= a, a positive constant, throughout the disc. Substituting this in the equation of equilibrium (in polar co-ordinates) for a symmetrical stress distribution we get a homogenous differential equation of the first order.On integrating this equation we get the equation of the thickness distribution for the required disc. Taking r/a, h/ho as abscissa and ordinate,and a° as a parameter, we plot the forms of different profiles.
