STUDIES IN THE OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS OF PRE-HEAT HOT CATHODE FLUORESCENT TUBE CIRCUITS

Abstract

This paper discusses the various types of noise generated by fluorescent tube circuits and some of the results of wave analyses conducted in this laboratory the percentage of harmonics in the range 50 cis to 16 kc/s and the experimental determination of the circuit characteristics at high supply frequency. A range of supply frequencies from 50 cis to 3 cis only has been considered for analysis. The advantages of high frequency operation have been discussed and some of the attendant problems briefly considered.
