Oxidative organic transformations catalysed by titanium silicate molecular sieves

Abstract

Titanium silicate molecular sieves, TS-1 and TS-2, are found to catalyse a variety of oxidation reactions in the presence of dilute H2O2 as oxidant. The reactions reported are the hydroxylation of aromatic compounds, oxidation f alcohols, the oxyfunctionalisation of alkanes, the epoxidation of alkenes and allyl alcohols, the cleavage af carbon-carbon or carbon-nitrogen double bonds. the oxidation of amines, the ammoximation of carbonyl compounds, the oxidation of cyclic dienes and sulfides. The plausible mechanism involving the reactive species,e.g.,peroxytitanium complexes for the above reactions is described
