Breeding biology of Schizothorax richardsonii gray and hard
Abstract
Breeding biology of Schizothorax richardsonii (= Oreinus plagiostomas) was studied for a period of two years. It has cystovarian type ovaries with the stroma forming a large number of ovigerous lamellae containing ova at various stages of development. Ovulation depends on the ambient thermal condition. The fish is less fecund in comparison with other Carps, the average fecundity being 12,144.3 Relationship between fecundity and other variables has also been calculated.
Keywords
