CRUSTACEAN COMMUNITIES OF FRESH WATERS OF KASHMIR
Abstract
The paper discusses the crustacean communities of seventeen water bodies of four different categories(lakes, springs, wetlands and ponds) of Kashmir. Twenty-six species of crustacea (Twenty cladocerans and six copepods) formed seventy -six associations in fourteen water bodies. Three water bodiesrevealed complete absence of cladocerans and copepods in them. Comparing the different cataegories, ponds contained the highest population density and the springs the least.
