Abstract


A generalised scheme is giNcn for obtaining copolymer composition and sequence distribution in irreversible copolymesisation by Monte Carlo simulation on digital computer. The sch(i-me has no restriction on the number of mowxnert irt the copolymerisation system and is thus applicisble to binary, ternary or any hitter multicoruponcnt systems. Several models are used in the scheme, such rig chain growth model based on conditional probability of monomer addition, diad and triad models based on unconditional probabilities, and modified diad and triad models involving both cor.ditional ard unconditional probabilities. It it concluded by comparison with analytical results that the chain growth model is the best among all the models considered.
