A recursive observer design in multi-output systems

Abstract


In this paper, It is shown that the asymptotic state-observer problem for a linear time-invariant system of order n having q output can be solved through the solution of the same problem for a similiar system of order n-q-r (with 1<r<q1) having q1 (where q1<q) number of output. The procedure for determing the parameters of the asymptotic state-observer (matrices D and G) allows considerable Simplification of the computations and can be repeated in a recursive manner. The result leads to a new algorithm for designing asymptotic state-observers for multivariable linear time-invariant systems.
