A note on the nonlinear vibrations of rectangular plates with parabolically varying thickness
Abstract
An analysis of the large amplitude vibrations of rectangular plates of parabolically varying thickness is presented. The method is based on Borgor's assumption of neglecting the second invariant of the middle surface strain in the expression corresponding to the total potential energy of the system, in conjunction with a Galcrkin procedure.
