Launching efficiency of overmoded dielectric rods excited in the HElm mode by a nonuniform Inagnetic ring source

Abstract

The results of theoretical analysis of the problem of excitation of HEtm modes on a cylinderical overmoded dielectric rod of Circular cross-section excited by a concentric magnetic ring source of magnitude varying as a sinusoidal function of the peripheral angle leading to expressions for launching efficiency and far field patterns as a function of frequency, location of the Source, characterstics of surface wave structures and highest order modes are presented Results of numerical evaluation of launching efficiency for the overmoded rods ale reported in the form of graphs.
