Abstract

In this paper, the steady flow of a second order incompressible thermo-viscous fluid through straight tubes is studied. It is noticed that, as in the case of visco-elastic fluids, a purely rectilinear flow of theono-viscous fluids in straight tubes. under the influence of a constant pressure gradient, is not sustainable. There exists a secondary flow in the tube cross-sections perpendicular to its axis. The flow through elliptic tube is illustrated as an example from which the flow through a circular pipe has been deduced as a special case.

Keywords
