Spectrophotometric determination of cerium (IV) with solo chrome black 6B

Abstract

A simple, rapid and semitive method for the determination of cerium(IV) in microgram quantities, based on the proylrational dischargs of the reddish violet colour of solo chrome black 6B reagent at PH 2 with the metal ions is described. The method allows the determination of cerium(IV) in H.e range 1-20 ppm at 530 mn. The effect of various foreign ions on the reaction system is also studied.
