SOME ASPECTS OF HELIUM LEAKAGE FROM ROCKS AND MINERALS

Abstract

The arguments dealing with the impossibility of helium leakage from perfect crystals of rock-forming minerals, are summerized.The distribution of uranium mineral grains is considered and leakage through the grain boundaries examined.A relationship is derived between grain size and the retentivity.The case of zircon is considered in relation to other data.
