PLANE COUETTE FLOW WITH SUCTION OR INJECTION AND HEAT TRANSFER FOR RIVUN-ERICKSEN FLUID
Abstract
Following the method due to Bhatnagar (P. L.) (Jour.Ind.lnst.Sci.50.1.1.1963]. we have discussed the problem of section and injection and that of heat tansfer in a plane Couette flow for Rivlin-Ericben fluid. By perturbation technique, regarding tbe elastic parameter as small, we have built the solutions on those obtained by Bhatnagar for Newtonian fluids, the latter forming the zeroth order solutions for the former. we have used certain properties of fundamental solutions, of differential equation and some transformations that enable us to solve the two-point boundary value and egen-value problems without using the trial and error method. In fact, each integration provides us with a solution for a suction parameter and the corresponding Reynolds number without imposing the condition of smallness on them. Investigations on other non-Newtionian and other bounding geometries win be published elsewhere.
