SECONDARY FLOW OF A ELASTICO-VISCOUS FLUID BETWEEN TWO CO-AXIAL CONES OSCILLATING ABOUT A FIXED AXIS
Abstract
The present paper investigates secondary flow indueea in a Rivlin Ericksen fluid contained belween two coaxial cones, due to rotational oscillotions of the cones about theri common axis. The secondary motion consists of a steady drsaibtuftion,as well as a periodic motion with ferequency twice that of the primary motion.the steadypart of this flow is studied irt cletuil for I(I) The outer cone is osdlkathg with fow timesr the angular velociiy of the inner cone in rhe sume phase, and (2) file othur. cone 13 osciilu~inpw irh Jhli resrh enngtrlar vriociry of the inner cone in rhe opposire phase for cones wirh semivertical angles (i) 0, = m/4 and %,- n/2 a d (ii) 8, = 7r/4 and 0,= n/3.
