ON COMPRESSIBLE LAMINAR BOUNDARY LAYER FLOW OVER A SEMI-INFINITE FLAT PLATE WITH VARIABLE FLUID PROPERTIES

Abstract

We have considered the effect of the variation of fluid properties, such as temperature dependence of the viscosity coefficient, on the bonndary layer solution. To get over the difficulty of large computational work we have developed a series solution by splitting up the flow variables into sets of universal functions which are independent of the law governing the viscosity-temperature relation and also of the surface and free stream conditions. We have also given tables for the universal functions and have considered some examples.
