NONLINEAR TRANSVERSE OSCILLATIONS IN TRAVELLING STRINGS BY A DIRECT LINEARISATION METHOD

Abstract

Applying Panavoko's direct linearisation method the frequency of transverse, vibrations of a non-linear travelling string has been obtanied -which is more accurate than that obtanied by the author's by the method of harmonic balance earlier. The method will extended to the curve of moving thread line, considered earlier by Ames.
