STUDIES ON 'BALANCED FOOD' III. Nutritive Value of the Food
Abstract
The nutritional value of a balanced food processed in these laboratories hasbeen assessed by studying (a) the supplementary value of the food to a poor rice diet, (b) the value of the food as a full ration. (c) the growth and reproduction overtwo generations, (d) the availabitity of calcium and phosphorus, and (e) the availability of B-complex vitamins. Based on the data obtained in these investigations it has been concluded that the food would be of considerable benefit, particularly to those sections of population consuming a poor diet.
