Indian power sector: Achievements and failures

Abstract

The paper deals wi!h the will of India's power sector over the last so years since independence. touching upon some developments that followed. It also highlights the power crisis that presently faces the nation projecting into the next decade. The role played by the Indian Institute of Science in the development of India's power sector and is no playing to help investigate the present and future shortages is briefly discussed.
