Abstract

A compasative study of modified strongly implicit procedure (MSIP) with a host of conjugate gradient methods asapplicable to groundwater flow problems in nonrectangular flow domains is made. Among the methods-Hesteoesand Steifel's conjugate gradient methods (CGHS). dIagonal scaltng conjugate gradient method (DSCG) and to-complete Cholesky conjugate gradient method (ICCG) and MSIP-it was found that DSCG and MSIP performed equally when DSCG was found to be easily adoptable for nonrectangular flow domains unlike MSIP which needed derivation of special equations.

Keywords
