SURFACE WAVE PROPAGATION THROUGH ANISOTROPIC CIRCULAR, CYLINDRICAL DIELECTRIC ROD WAVEGUIDE.
Abstract
The expressions for the propagation characteristics, such as, the radial propagation constants (K), the axial propagation constant ( r ), the guided wavelength (Lg)), and the cut-off conditions for a circular, cylindrical, anisotropic dielectric rod waveguide excited by the symmetric electric (TM01) and symmetric magnetic (TE01) modes have been derived. Numerical calculation of these characteristics (K, r, Lg) as a function of the diameter (d) and the dielectri cconstant (E1) of the guide have been completed and the results are presented graphically. The electric and the magnetic field distributions inside and outside the waveguide as a function of a diameter (d) are also given.
