VANADYL COMPLEXES OF SOME TRIDENTATE DIBASIC SCHIFF BASES.
Abstract
The vanadyl complexes of the type [VO.L.(H2O)2] were synthesised with 0(N- a-Pyrrolideneimino) ethane sulphonic acid (H2PE), 2-(N- a-pyrrolideneimino) benzene sulphonic acid (H2PB), 0-(2-Pyrrolideneimino) benzoic acid (H2PBA), and 3-(2-pyrrolideneimino) propionic acid (H2PP) have been studied potentiometrically by Calvin's extension of Bjerrumn's method in aqueous media at 25 degrees, 35 degrees and 45degrees C. These chelates were also synthesised in the solid state and were characterised by elemental analysis, moleccular weight, magnetic susceptibility measurements and electronic and i.r. spectral studies.
Keywords
