OPTIMAL OPERATION OF EXOTHERMIC CONSECUTIVE REACTIONS VIA MAXIMUM PRINCIPLE.
Abstract
A computational algorithmrits the maximum principle has been uggested for the prediction of anoptinium cataint dilution profile under which the yield of the intermediate species in a system of exothermic consecutive reactions is maximited at the reactor outlet. A significant feature in the problem analysts is the enlargement of the Hamiltonian by including the energy conservation equation and a corresponding augmentation of the adjoint vector. The computed catalyst dilution profile therefore forces the optimal orxtration of a non-isothermal reactor with constant coolant temperature and as such represents a practical strategy in reactor design.
