WINTER DIETS OF HANGUL-DEER (Cervus elaphus hanglu WAGNER) AT DACHIGAM NATIONAL PARK, KASHMIR
Abstract
Pellets and rumen of hankul-deer in the Dachigam National Park were analysed to determine their food habits. Seventeen plant taxa were identified in the diet. Buds, dry leaves and soft shoots of irotiopsis jacquemontiana, fasminum humile and Arthraxon lanceolata were found to be the most important items in the food of the deer.
