Quantum Mechanics of Dissipative Systems
Abstract
It is well-known that there is no Hamiltonian mechanicsm to describe a dissipative system either in Classical or Quantum mechanics. Probabilistic models are introduced to describe the effect of the environment that leads to dissipation. It is argued in the context of such models that one is forced to use non-commutative stochastic processes to give a satisfactory description.
